Cold Day, Bright Eyes

About a month ago we were approached by a potential client who had (not surprisingly) had a not-so-great experience with one of those chain photography services (think along the line of those that have "Portrait" in their names) and was very much wanting a "re-do", but no longer trusted the chain store. I let her know that we are different...we very much want to have fun with our clients and get genuine smiles.
She cautioned us that "the last time we tried it was terrible" and that "maybe it was her daughter". There was a lot of, "I hope she isn't grumpy" and "I'm not going to get my hopes up" talk. I assured her that she should just relax, that we have "tricks" up our sleeves and we're well versed in making kiddos smile. Heck, being a mom of two little ones myself and Karen a mom and grandmother, we know kids' limits and what works and what doesn't.
On a VERY cold, windy day this past weekend we met up at the Nebraska State Capitol Building and had a WONDERFUL session. While "Court" was a little quite at first, we had her smiling and posing like a champ by the end. She has a beautiful smile and the most beautiful, sparkly eyes! And her big brother, well, he was a PRO. So worried moms out there...sit back and relax; we've got this!
