Romantic, Magical, Intimate...Perfectly Imperfect

Perfection is never present at an event...in fact, perfection is often, in my opinion, an unwanted guest. Perfection's "plus 1" is often Boring. Boring is NEVER fun. Imperfections are what lead to some of the most amazing memories. To this day, my cousin still talks about how cute, funny, etc. it was that my twin sister and I ran out of flower petals half way down the church aisle and to remedy this, we proceeded to return to the beginning of aisle and collected the petals that we had already dropped and gracefully placed them on the later half of the aisle; leaving the first half of the aisle bare. Hey, we were like five...give us a break. That, and we were pretty darn cute in the dresses that were handmade by my grandmother. See, memories were being made. We always tell our couples to just relax, that we're there to document your day; the routine, and out of the ordinary, the goof-ups, and often things going on that our couples don't even know happened!
So when we were booked by a client for a "wooden" (5-year) vow renewal and told that it would be in a forest, I think my inner photographer may have squealed in delight. The bride wanted "romance, magic and intimacy"...cue my creativity going into overdrive.
But even with just the couple, us photographing their renewal, and their three daughters, things still didn't go perfectly and guess what; it was MAGICAL!
The officiant had the wrong date written down on her calendar and by the time this was realized, we were already twenty minutes past time for the ceremony to begin. We took advantage of the "downtime" and got busy capturing the family in the amazing golden light trickling through the trees.

Can you say, "ROMANTIC"??

"Chasing Fairies"

And we were still waiting for the officiant...so they decided it was time cut the cake, much to the kiddos' delight. But, before cake, a prayer was had:

It was delicious...

And after about another hour, the officiant arrived and it was time to "get the show started". How amazing is it to have a suspension bridge as your aisle?!?
One of the girls wasn't too sure about the wobbly bridge, but her sister came to her rescue and helped her across; making this "imperfect" moment all to perfect:

"I now pronounce you Man and Wife...Again!"

The happy family.

With the sun having set, and the Bride and Groom having said, "I do...again", it was time to call and end to the magical evening and say, "goodnight" to the wilted flowers so what better way to do so than by tossing them from the wooden suspension bridge??

Thank you Faust family for the perfectly imperfect evening, and for choosing TBD Photography to be the ones to capture it.
