I was honored to meet Kim back in March who was referred to us by another bride (we LOVE referrals from our couples; it is one of the largest compliments we can receive). During our meeting her personality was just beaming and I was overjoyed when she chose me to document this amazing moment in her and Mike's relationship. Besides being overjoyed because she seemed like such an amazing person, I was honored as she placed her trust in my to capture their day as a solo photographer. Weddings are a BIG deal and while I knew I could handle the pressure and had the expertise to expertly tell their story, this was the first time I would be doing so 100% solo...big, BIG deal and amazing experience.

Second first...the wedding was in a beautiful local cemetery! Yes, a cemetery...you read that correctly. Through conversations with Kim I came to understand the connection her and Mike have with the grounds and how sentimental it would be for their wedding to be in Wyuka. See, Kim and Mike take almost weekly walks through the property and have been doing so since they first because a couple (collective awwww inserted here). One would think it would be awkward to have a wedding in a cemetery; however, the grounds are beautiful, full of history and the facilities are intimate and take you back to an error full of elegance. (Wyuka in Lincoln, NE is almost 150 years old and only 2 years younger than Nebraska itself!)

Just take a look...it's beautiful:

Thank you Kim and Mike for allowing me to tell your story!

~Michelle~
